Another New Year

As of today, I have watched 642 different movies since January 1st 2007 (see list in previous post) This past year I greatly increased my total. The number of films I've been able to squeeze in each year has been growing pretty well. Including repeats, in 2007 I watched 112 films. In 2008 I watched 137. In 2009 I watched 200. And in 2010 I watched about 314.
So far this year I've watched 32 movies so far. This brings my total, including repeats, to 795 movies as of 11 am today.

I'm getting closer to my goal of a movie every other day with a ratio of .4397 to 1. If I was to include repeats (minus the 32 of this year) I've watched .5226 movies every day since 2007.

Here are the movies I've seen three or more times:

Akira- 5
Pineapple Express- 5
Rocknrolla- 5
Superbad- 5
Close Encounters of the Third Kind- 4
Crank- 4
Dirtrict 9- 4
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban- 4
HP and the Order of the Phoenix- 4
Independence Day- 4
No Country for Old Men- 4
Transformer- 4
300- 3
AVP Requiem- 3
The Dark Knight- 3
The Departed- 3
Don't Mess With the Zohan- 3
Fight Club- 3
Forgetting Sarah Marshal- 3
HP and the Goblet of Fire- 3
HP and the Half Blood Prince- 3
Hot Fuzz- 3
Kicking and Screaming- 3
Kill Bill- 3
Knocked Up- 3
Lord of War- 3
Old Boy- 3
Run Fatboy Run- 3
Smokin Aces- 3
Troy- 3
Watchmen- 3
X-Men Last Stand- 3

Some of these can be explained away due to the shear number of times they're played on television, such as Independence Day, Troy, and X-Man. Others on group activities/traditions. For example movies like Superbad, Pineapple Express, and Forgetting Sarah Marshal are great movies to watch with friends while you're hanging out. Also a small group of my friends and I all started watching the whole Harry Potter series every time a new one would come out (to prepare for it hah).
Then there are the movies that I genuinely can say are among my favorites:
Old Boy
Fight Club
Zohan
No Country for Old Men
Close Encounters
and Akira

I was able to bump my yearly total from 200 to 314, lets see what I can do this year. I was so damn close to one movie a day for 2010!
